THE ENDLESS PAIN OF REGRET

By Toheeb Omotayo (DaPenWarrior)

Theodore roosevelt said that, “Courage is not having the strenth to go on, it is going on when you don’t have the strength, when you’ve got to keep going even when you feel like you don’t have the strength to go on.”

Because you’re a human, it’s only natural that you get tired or feel discouraged when people don’t acknowledge your hardwork. But you must never quit. You must keep at that thing you feel like doing, get stuck with it, fail big time, and stand up bigger than ever before.

Theologian Mike Tyson once said that, “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”

This may sound funny to you but trust me, it’s just the truth. Yes, the reality. We all envision a great life ahead of us and we start dreaming about how to walk in the line and across to get our hands on the bigger picture. But, are we only dreaming without any specific goals? Let’s understand the question and everything’ll work out well.

No matter how hard you try to blockade punches, one will definitely land on your mouth and you’ll get knocked down. However, it’s one thing to get knocked down, but another thing to not stay down.

When something or somebody knocks you down, play the victim card, pretend to be tired, rise up with a fresh face-off zeal, counterattack aggressively, and prove them wrong with your renewed spirit of resilience. Regret is the biggest problem you’d ever have. The pain of regret over something you could have done but quit along the way is far more bigger than the pain of perseverance. Trust me, if you realize this fact, you’ll never ever want to stay down.
